Thing #7 Wikis
We used a Wiki at one time within our local group of Youth Services Librarians.
I would check it for news and information but eventually they stopped using it.
Thing #8 Tabbed Browsing and Add-Ons in Firefox
We have Firefox available for patron use on the public computers however I have not used it myself. I will take a look at and see what it's like.
I say re-awaken the connection you had with local youth service librarians, but put it in the form of a blog! That way, everyone can be an author and post links and conversations can be followed easily AND people can subscribe to it so they know when new things are up and they don't waste time clicking on the site when nothing new's been posted. Wikis really are better at acting as online filing cabinets really.
ReplyDeleteWould love to know what you think of Firefox. Important to know at least a little about it in order to help patrons as they navigate it themselves. I love colorful tabs (it's an add-on)
